Flying car from Israel!

Rafi Yoeli, a 55 year old from Israel, has a solution to the traffic jam menace – just fly away, above the waiting cars! This may not be a dream, if Rafi Yoeli is able to finish his invention the way he wants it.

He has already got a vehicle three feet above the ground. He says his flying car will be able to take off vertically, fly at around 155 miles per hour, and go 12,000 feet above the ground. Instead of the exposed rotors of helicopters, his flying car will have encased fans. He claims his X-Hawk (the name of the flying car) will have greater stability than the conventional helicopter.

However, don’t plan on going out and buying this soon – it is not expected to be fully finished until 2010!

News from Kangaroo land: Water from air!

Farmers in areas where water supply is scarce may be able to breathe more freely now, thanks to Max Whisson, an Australian inventor.

Whisson has invented the Whisson windmill, an invention which extracts water from the air around.

How does it work? The key is absolute humidity. The invention makes clever use of water present in the air around, and uses the power of wind to condense this by means of a refrigeration unit.
